Client: Network Rail & Samaritans
Campaign: Small Talk Saves Lives
Objective: To reduce the number of near-miss and fatal incidents related to poor mental health on the UK rail network.
Insight: Did you know suicidal thoughts are often temporary? That just a simple remark about the weather can be all it takes to interrupt them and start someone on the road to recovery?
Idea: We wanted to move the public from bystanders to standing by. Small Talk Saves Lives was how we made it happen – a multi-award winning campaign for the UK’s Network Rail, British Transport Police and Samaritans charity. This integrated campaign used a mix of channels and mediums to drive action – including two emotive hero films, a range of digital and social assets and in-station media.
The original campaign went on the make a huge splash, scooping 12 major industry awards including:
Campaigns for Good | Best Public Awareness Award & Campaign of the Year
Communique | Excellence in Media Relations Award & Excellence in Public Health Award
PRCA National Awards | Health and Wellbeing Award
PM Society Digital Awards | Integrated Campaign Award
