“Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” – Coco Chanel
student enterprise and employability | graphic design
In 2012 University of the Arts London (UAL) unveiled its new identity designed by Pentagram, shortly after I had begun working part-time in the role of Digital and Visual Communications Coordinator. I was asked to design a separate identity for the Student Enterprise and Employability department at UAL, to sit within the wider University brand.
The scope of the project allowed me to commission portrait photography of those students and graduates who had previously benefitted from the department’s various opportunities, fund programmes, advice sessions etc. We complemented these new photos with images of the University’s architecture and enlarged graphic elements derived from glyphs from the Helvetica Neue typeface. The combination of these three key elements allowed us to produce a suite of assets with which to create graphic solutions for both print and web going forward.
